ScootHero was born from firsthand experience with the pain points of last-mile delivery. As founders of Quikr, South Africa's on-demand delivery platform, Wahlied and Dewald experienced the daily struggle of rising fuel costs, vehicle breakdowns, and mounting maintenance bills.
They felt the frustration of trying to deliver convenience to their customers while constantly battling with unreliable vehicles and mounting costs.

The question became simple:
What if we could give our everyday heroes- fleet managers and drivers- the equipment they deserve?

In 2021, they founded ScootHero with a clear mission—build a holistic electric mobility solution that empowers drivers, reduces costs for businesses, and contributes to a more sustainable Southern Africa. Today, ScootHero is leading the region's two-wheeler EV transformation, one vehicle at a time.

Wahlied brings over two decades of supply chain and logistics expertise to ScootHero's mission. His career spans roles from Barloworld Logistics to SweepSouth, where he served as Head of Operations before founding Quikr in 2020.

As CEO of both Quikr and ScootHero, Wahlied has built his career on understanding the intricate challenges of last-mile delivery. His hands-on experience managing distribution networks across South Africa—and internationally in Kenya and Nigeria—gives him unique insight into what delivery drivers and fleet operators actually need to succeed.

Dewald van Wyk
Co-Founder & COO

Dewald is the operational backbone of ScootHero, turning strategy into reality on the ground. As COO, he oversees everything that happens after a deal is signed—driver training programs, maintenance network expansion, vehicle importation and deployment, and pilot program execution.
With a background in B2B sales and account management from his decade at Konica Minolta, Dewald brings a unique combination of client-facing expertise and operational execution. He understands what partners need because he's the one ensuring it gets delivered. Whether it's building out the HeroCare service network, managing complex vehicle logistics from OEM to road, or designing driver onboarding systems that actually work, Dewald makes sure ScootHero's promises become performance.
His hands-on leadership style means he's as comfortable training drivers as he is coordinating with fleet managers. Dewald ensures that every operational detail—from preventive maintenance schedules to swap station uptime—reflects ScootHero's commitment to reliability and driver support.

The Head of Infrastructure owns the end-to-end planning, deployment and ongoing operation of ScootHero's energy network. You will be responsible for site selection, building and managing strategic partner relationships, grid and off-grid power solutions, managing station installation, and network reliability across Southern Africa.
Customer Success Manager
Our Customer Success Manager (CSM) owns the post‑sales journey for ScootHero customers. Once a pilot is booked and the opportunity is won, you ensure a smooth pilot rollout, prove the business case and convert the pilot into a long‑term contract.
Mobile Technicians
We’re hiring mobile technicians in the Cape Town & Johannesburg regions.
Our operations are hardware-heavy, fast-paced, and deeply mission-driven. We’re expanding our presence in both regions and are looking for hands-on, mechanically minded Mobile Technicians to join our growing team on the ground.
